Mercedes AMG Project ONE Concept

Mercedes at the Frankfurt Motor Show introduced their concept with Formula One technology, called the Mercedes AMG Project ONE Concept.

This revolutionary hypercar car uses the same 1.6-liter turbo hybrid V6 that its 2014 F1 team uses. Although it’s just a concept, Mercedes says it can also be expected from the production model that should appear in 2019 and will costs about 2.6 million euros.
The company says its power will be over 1000 horsepower, a top speed of over 350 km/h, and that it will accelerate to 200 km/h in less than 6 seconds.

Project ONE is a plug-in hybrid because it also uses 4 electric motors, and lithium-ion batteries use the same set-up and cooling system as the Mercedes-Benz F1, and with one charge they can travel about 25km. Their voltage is 800 volts, and the battery system is located on the floor behind the rear axle.

Mercedes describes the cabin as “Formula 1 for two, and the dashboard consists of two 10 inch displays, with a third that functions as a rear mirror and is connected to a camera at the back of the car.
